Aon are recruiting an Events Leader to join our team in London, Chelmsford or one of our other offices located in the South East of England. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both at home and from the office.

**What the day will look like**:
In this role, you will see yourself creating and leading the UK events strategy, planning and hands on execution of a comprehensive portfolio (physical, virtual and hybrid)

You will also collaborate closely with Growth Marketing, Insight Marketing, Enterprise Client Group & Innovation and Centres of Excellence to deliver a UK event plan that supports in delivering measurable results.

**How this opportunity is different**:

- In this role you will play key role in UK marketing planning process ensuring events strategy is fully integrated to drive engagement and create demand from key buyers.
- Create and manage the UK events strategy, while guiding and advising the best and the most impactful format, and effectively challenge the conventional thinking in producing an event
- Understand market context and industry trends to inform the development of strategy and delivery of word-class guest experience on time and on budget
- Coordinate and collaborate closely with Growth Marketing, Insight Marketing, Enterprise Client Group & Innovation and Centres of Excellence to deliver a UK event plan that supports in delivering measurable results
- Understand business requirements and handle expectations of multiple partners from across the business. Ensuring events have a clearly defined role and purpose as a key business growth enabler
- Partner with other Regional Event Leaders to build consistent frameworks and toolkits that ensure global consistency and best-in-class experiences
- Leverage partnerships, suppliers, sponsors and venues effectively and efficiently through strong negotiation skills, to gain quality of service and maximum ROI, with professionalism and integrity
- Excellent management and reconciliation of event budgets to ensure adherence to budget guidelines
- Support in the management, coaching, development, and growth of the Regional Events Team

**Skills and experience that will lead to success**:

- Previous hands-on experience in delivering live, virtual and hybrid event experiences, including managing event preparation remotely and significant experience in project running large scale events
- Ambitious self-starter with demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done
- Understanding of the customer decision making processes for B2B sales cycles and all marketing touchpoints (PR, Media, Digital, Communications, Social, etc.)
- Excellent organization skills, results driven, can combine strategic thinking with effective execution
- Experience in structuring and running virtual events, driving registration, earning and keeping attendee attention, and virtual event platforms i.e. ON24, Cvent
- Understanding of marketing automation concepts and software tools to capture contacts/leads and measure commercial impact of investments i.e. Eloqua
- Inspired by digital marketing execution, embrace marketing automation concepts, and focused on delivering a compelling customer experience through relevant and connected customer experience
- Strong leadership presence and stakeholder management experience, including experience working with multiple local and regional stakeholders
- Experience in people management and/or managing vendors is required.
