**Role**: Therapeutic Residential Assistant
**Circa Salary**:£23,700 - £25,700 (Depending on qualification) plus additional Sleep in allowance of £50 per shift.
- Level 3 NVQ Working with Children and Young People or equivalent is essential_
**Contract/Hours**: Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week on a 24/7 shift basis working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis to include weekends.

**The role**:
Do you have a strong background in children's residential care? Are you focused and passionate about changing the lives of children and young people for the better? We have a unique opportunity for experienced therapeutic residential staff to join our teamin the newly developed children's homes in the North East for children and young people who are looked after. These are exciting, challenging and rewarding roles with the opportunity to make a huge personal impact. The roles will be based in Newcastle.
As a Therapeutic Residential Worker you will work with a wide range of professionals to ensure that the children and young people you support develop to their full potential. We will actively support you in your role and provide you with regular supervision/ APR process and specialist training, from our newly developed Professional Development Centre.

- Providing high quality services that support the needs of the children and young people, which includes personal care and the administration of medication.
-Being a key worker, creating and updating care plans, risk assessments and any other related documents.
-Being an advocate for the wellbeing of the young people.
-Providing a strong and motivational contribution to the team.
-Being responsible for safeguarding and promoting individual rights.
-Building excellent relationships with young people, their families and other care professionals.
**We're ideally looking for someone who has**:
- Experience of working with children or young people (experience working with children with disabilities would be an advantage).
- Level 3 NVQ Working with Children and Young People or equivalent.**(Essential)**
-A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people,
-A flexible approach to working hours (service open seven days a week).
