**The job**:
We’re looking for a friendly and proactive Maintenance Technician with attention to detail, good communication and organisational skills to carry out facilities maintenance duties.

**Key responsibilities for the Maintenance**:

- Carry out routine internal and external maintenance work such as mechanical fault finding and making safe basic installations, plumbing, painting and decorating, joinery and general repairs to the building fabric.
- Carry out routine monitoring and checks of the main plant room, lighting systems, fire detection system and security systems.
- Ensure all aspects of site maintenance are performed in line with the health and safety policy, including documented systems for Water Management (Legionella), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (CoSHH), Risk Assessments, Method Statements.
- Service, repair and maintain everything that is excluded from service contract agreements internally and externally throughout the building and grounds.
- Liaise with external contractors to agree appropriate dates and times to perform routine servicing and maintenance in line with service agreements
- Ensure that the site is maintained to the highest standard in line with the requirements of Visit Britain.
- To support the Grounds Maintenance team to ensure that the building appearance, grounds, gardens, and carparks are to the highest standards.
- Assist in any special projects and in conjunction with contractors when required.
- Monitor levels of stock and materials, including the safe storage of any dangerous, flammable, or hazardous substances.

Please note this role may include the requirement to work weekends and evenings.

**Essential qualifications, experience and skills required for this role**:

- Formal qualification in a building related trade
- COSHH, Legionella, Asbestos and Manual Handling Awareness either from prior experience or formal training
- Full UK driving licence
- Friendly outgoing personality
