**Job description**:
Would you like to work on important questions about how regulation can impact on the UK's economic growth outside the European Union? Then this role might be for you
The Trade Cooperation and the Union Directorate provides exciting opportunities to support Ministers and work with officials across BEIS and other government departments across a wide range of policies relating to the European Union and Northern Ireland Protocol and strengthening the Union of the United Kingdom and the UK's internal market.
We're looking for people that are adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable engaging across teams and departments on complex policy issues to deliver quality outcomes.
**Responsibilities**:
The role holders will be expected to undertake some of the following responsibilities to support Government negotiations, planning and delivery linked to the Northern Ireland Protocol; UKEU Trade & Cooperation Agreement and UK Internal Market.
Role holders may also be asked to assist on priority projects across the wider Trade, Co-operation and the Union Directorate.
- Co-ordinate teams across BEIS to develop ministerial and senior level briefing, advice and reporting.
- Build relationships with internal or external partners and use those relationships to improve policy outcomes for BEIS.
- Develop process improvements and support cross-departmental upskilling.
- Support engagement with the European Union, Devolved Administrations, Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories (CDOTs), businesses / business organisations and/or other countries.
- Provide expert advice to policy teams including on the operation of the UK Internal Market Act and TCA.
**Skills and experience**
**Essential**
You will have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to present with confidence and clarity to a wide range of audiences.
- Track record of building and maintaining effective relationships across different teams and organisations. These posts require a significant amount of collaboration across BEIS and with Whitehall teams.
- The ability to consistently deliver high quality advice and analysis, even when working at pace.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to manage your work, in a potentially fast-paced environment.
