Junior Packaging Buyer

The Junior Buyer will manage the procurement and scheduling of packaging and indirect materials for all ISS sites, ensuring optimal stock levels and production consistency.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsibility for the generation of the Category plan, to deliver best-in-class strategic procurement to all ISS sites.
- Place orders with suppliers based upon forecast and MRP.
- Liaise with suppliers and deal with ongoing communications.
- Deliver a best-in-class Managed Supplier base; Supplier reviews to be every 6 months and to include: Audit when at supplier site, Turnover, OTIF, Market position, Scorecard, Innovation.
- Hold quarterly price reviews with suppliers to ensure optimum cost achieved for materials.
- Assist Packaging Manager to prepare Preferred Supplier Agreements for suppliers in Category. To include Terms of payment, Early Settlement Discounts, Rebates and schedule price review dates.
- Ensure there is a full and staggered Pricing matrix for all categories and for all suppliers to achieve best price procurement for all ISS sites using combined volume buying power.
- Ensure quarterly pricing reviews are implemented and maintained for all Preferred Suppliers.
- Full understanding of commodities markets for packaging materials and challenge to all pricing models.
- Deliver favourable purchase price variance to standard costs for Category.
- Control over stock management for category and placing of orders for replenishment without any items going out of stock.
- Drive buying economies and savings through accurate ordering and forecasting.
- Support Packaging Administrator as required. Coaching and holiday cover.
- Responsible for hire and de-hire of trays and pallets, manage system to ensure accurate consumption is recorded and de-hire accuracy of 100%.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- Experience in procurement and administration
- Knowledge of Prophet ERP system an advantage
- Packaging and fresh produce experience
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking

Pay: £29,613.62 per year
