Junior Packaging Buyer

Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Junior Packaging Buyer for our fresh produce client based in Teynham. You will be required to assist the packaging team with all aspects of administration relating to the procurement of packaging supplies and to maintain up to date and accurate BRC records for the packaging department.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Place orders with suppliers
- Open purchase orders on the ERP system
- Hire and de-hire trays and pallets
- Liaise with suppliers and deal with ongoing communications
- Update and maintain BRC records
- Take responsibility for the stock management and placing of orders for replenishment of sundry items
- Start building up own category of packaging to manage
- Assist with report-building for supplier reviews

**Qualifications/Skills Required**:

- GCSE or equivalent English and maths
- Administration experience
- Prophet ERP system
- Packaging knowledge
- Fresh produce knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Numerate
- Thoroughness/attention to detail

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

**Salary**: £24,523.37 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Teynham, Kent: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
