The Pharmacy Department is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking individual to join our purchasing team as a Senior Pharmacy Purchasing and Stores Assistant working in the pharmacy store and with the pharmacy robot to ensure urgent medicines are received into the Trust and that fluids and feeds are stored and supplied according to the high standards set out by our wholesale dealer's licence. You will also cover the priority porter role on a planned basis working on an extended hours rota.

This is a full time post working an average of 37.5 hours per week including weekends and late evenings on a rota.

To manage the staff in the pharmacy store and to deputise for the Lead Assistant Technical Officer - Stores. To undertake all pharmacy stores duties as required. To ensure all pharmacy activities within the store are compliant with Good Distribution Practice.

Staff Management

To supervise staff undertaking tasks in the store and in clinical areas.

To match the day’s workload with staffing as needed.

To train new staff and provide continuing professional development for all staff.

To deputise for the Lead Assistant Technical Officer - Stores as required.

To appraise assigned staff

To ensure stores staff are monitoring medical gases stock levels and orders placed in a timely manner

Pharmacy Procurement

To receive goods using the stock control system.

To input the deliveries via the robot, paying attention to specific detail.

Process authorised invoices for payment.

Pharmacy goods unpacking

Sign for pharmacy deliveries from delivery drivers ensuring all parcels are accounted for.

Sign for controlled drugs which will require counting on receipt as they are non-returnable.

Check off all goods against delivery paperwork.
