**Information Support Assistant - Inside IR35**

**Contract Term: 7 Months possible extension**

**Contracting Authority: MOD - Submarine Delivery Agency**

**Location: Bristol - Abbey Wood site - 5 days a week.**

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.

**As an Information Support Assistant, your main responsibilities will be**
- Carry out activities relating to receipt, control, issue and dispatch of key documentation for stakeholders in accordance with local policy and within agreed timescales.
- Support the distribution of unclassified and classified hard and soft copy documentation, ensuring a turnaround to recipient within 3 weeks.
- Maintain record of transactions and status of documentation on Document Control Centre (DCC) Management System
- Liaise with Document Sponsors for document authorisation, issue and distribution requirements
- Maintain up to date holdings of documentation in the DCC library and review weekly
- Ensure the correct processes are followed throughout
- Support DCC Manager by carrying out activities relating to control and distribution of authorised?documents, revisions and changes
- Support DCC Manager with audit of DCC holdings, auditing against the Required Document List to ensure the correct holding of documentation
- Under the direction of the DCC Manager interrogate audit outcomes and resolve DCC Documentation related issues with stakeholders.
- Support Continuous Improvement activities and capture Process changes as directed by DCC Manager

**Essential Skills**
- Experience in Knowledge and Information Management in an organisation
- Document Control background and skillset
- Experience of working in an organisation and can evidence Learning from Experience (LFE)
- Attention to detail and customer service experience
- Active Valid SC Clearance is required

**Desirable Skills**
- Knowledge and experience of MOD Information Management policy
- Knowledge of the SWS environment
- Experience in communication and stakeholder engagement
- Experience in providing first line customer support
- Experience of working in a Registry
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and Public Records Act
