Contract Surveyor

Due to our expanding land led programme, were looking for a Contract Surveyor/EA to join our in-house consultancy team, that sits within the wider Development function.

The team is responsible for cost planning, tendering construction projects, negotiating contract terms with contractors, compiling contract documents and administering on site construction contracts for the company’s ongoing Development programme.

We can offer you the opportunity to be involved with an exciting range of new build housing and mixed-use regeneration projects, with values in the range of £5m - £20m. The role is generally home based, serving projects in the south/southwest counties.

**What you’ll be doing**

As a contract surveyor, you’ll undertake day to day administrative duties on the delivery of our Design and Build projects under the terms of contract or bespoke Development Agreement.

Interim site visits will be carried out for valuations and assessing progress and compliance, identifying aspects of risk, and seeking any guidance from senior colleagues, to manage and mitigate such risks.

Furthermore, you’ll chair project meetings, taking minutes and follow up action plans. You’ll assess contractual claims and manage information flow, recording, documenting, and issuing instructions/notices as required for the delivery of contracts.

You’ll liaise with a multi-disciplinary team, internal and external stakeholders throughout the life of each project to foster a successful completion.

**About you**

Ideally, you’ll already be working in a similar role and have working knowledge of key contract formats including NEC, JCT (D&B), Development Agreements and alike, acting specifically as NEC Project Manager or Employers Agent.

You’ll either hold a relevant qualification - working towards or have 3 years’ experience delivering construction projects.

You’ll bring your skills and knowledge of key contract formats and will be abreast of all legislation in relation to delivering construction projects.

You will be highly organised and have experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, allocating resources as needed to deliver projects to a high quality, safely, to programme and budget.

Our schemes are south of the M4 in Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset, Sussex, Surrey and Wiltshire so you’ll be willing and able to travel across our schemes. You’ll need a full, UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
