**Safeguarding Caseworker Inside IR35**

**Contract Term: 6 Months + extenstion**

**Location: Aldershot / Hybrid**

The Safeguarding Case Worker will have a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting difference to the way the Army’s Cadets manages safeguarding and child protection in the future.

**As a Safeguarding Caseworker, your main responsibilities would be**:
**Duties**:

- To receive information about safeguarding disclosures and concerns, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Management of cases and allegations in line with UK and devolved legislation and guidance, Army Cadet Force Regulations and Cadet Force Standing Orders.
- Liaise with external agencies and statutory authorities,
- Complete all necessary documentation and referrals, ensuring full and accurate records are maintained.
- Provide advice and support to parents, guardians, cadets, volunteers and colleagues.
- Lead and advise on internal enquiries, assessing and managing risk suitability of individuals to join or remain in the Organisation.
- Draft risk assessments and risk management plans and agree them with local volunteer Army Cadet Force
- Commandants and/ or Reserve Forces and Cadets Association County Executive Officers.
- Determine and present evidence in a factual and concise manner to support the work of statutory authorities.
- Submit referrals to Disclosure and Barring Service, Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scotland, or Access Northern Ireland and share information with public protection units following case conclusion.
- Participate in supervision and engage in professional development, as arranged with SO1 Safeguarding.
- Maintain accurate records to professional standards.

**Essential**:

- Previous casework experience
- Strong administration and organisation skills
- Strong communications skills
- Experience in using risk assessment tools

**Desirable**:

- Experience of front-line child protection intervention and/ or risk assessment of perpetrators of abuse would be desirable
- Relevant degree or qualification desirable
