Finance Assistant

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide professional and efficient support to the Finance team
- Responsible for producing all work to a high standard of accuracy
- Assist the Finance team with the financial administration of the firm and the day to day administration of the department. Including, but not limited to, Purchase Ledger, HMLR payments, taking card payments over the phone and in person, inputting financial transactions, investigating residual balances, archiving matters and providing cover for other members of the team
- Carry out their work while ensuring compliance at all times with the Law Society’s Solicitors Account Rules
- Deal with Clients in a professional and efficient manner on the telephone
- Liaise with other support staff if required for the production of work
**Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required**
- Excellent numeracy, ICT skills and an understanding of software systems
- Previous experience in Solicitors accounts or experience gained in a similar office environment would be an advantage
- Good organisational skills, a proactive approach to work, as well as the ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines, whilst paying close attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritise and handle large volume of work meeting strict deadlines whilst paying close attention to detail
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner, both in writing and verbally, including dealing with correspondence and telephone calls in a pleasant manner
- Ability to use initiative where required
**Continuous Improvement**
- Ensure the highest standards are maintained to continually improve the service given to Clients and Fee Earners
- Inform the head of department immediately of any problems encountered
- Ensure all firm’s procedures are followed and adhered to
- To carry out any duties which may be required to ensure a professional service is provided at all times
**General**
- Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality at all times regarding the firm and it’s Clients
- Ability to relate well with Staff and to maintain high professional standards
- Clear understanding of the firm’s structure, values and procedure
- Ensure a high standard of dress and personal appearance is maintained at all times
- Demonstrate an enthusiastic, flexible and patient approach to work

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
**Salary**: £18,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
