We’re looking for two Senior Engineers to join our teams based in either Birmingham, Telford or Nottingham to lead and coordinate the activities and resources involved in the identification of asset needs and development of early solutions. These roles willfocus on needs relating to traffic congestion, delays and network capacity and will include development of options and analysis using traffic models.

The Senior Engineers will work closely with supply chain and respond to customer enquiries as well as working on specifying surveys and scheme appraisals.

These roles will have a hybrid working approach, where typically you’ll spend 2 days per week in the office and 3 days working from home.

What you’ll be leading on
- Ensure the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered and accounted for throughout the planning and delivery of each service activity.
- Lead the development of early solutions for improvements, including the compiling and checking of relevant documents, evidence and options for value management, taking into account new techniques, materials, buildability and costs.
- Support the analysis and review of network operational data and prioritisation of congestion needs.
- Identify, prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works that support the development of improvement schemes.
- Providing technical support to other parts of the business relating to congestion management and traffic modelling.
- Support the development of technical briefs provided to the design and construction contractors for improvement and renewals work.

To be successful
- Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent
- Member of a relevant professional body
- Experience of traffic and transport modelling
- Experience in highway infrastructure design
- Experience of working with traffic modelling software tools including Linsig, ARCADY and PICADY
- Knowledge or experience of microsimulation or strategic modelling tools such as VISSIM, Paramics and SATURN (desirable)
- Experience in AutoCAD (desirable)
- Experience in highway construction and delivery methods (desirable)
- Good knowledge of CDM 2015
