Here at William Hill, we’re looking for an experienced Design Manager who'll help build, coach, and mentor a quickly growing and highly skilled group of Product Designers and a UX Writer.

You’ll also have a part in identifying product strategy and envisioning the ecosystems and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible and provide a clear vision of the future of Product design across your business areas as part of the DesignLeadership Team.

**The work**:

- Have a holistic view of work, including initial discovery, research, and journey mapping through to the oversight of final high-fidelity designs.
- Manage a team of designers across two business areas working on William Hill's core product experiences and solving some of the most complex design problems around today in Sports, Player Safety and Gaming for all markets.
- Grow the team to meet business demands and individuals’ development needs.
- Partner closely with Design and Product Leadership to manage resourcing of projects and to determine design direction delivering impactful customers journeys.
- Inspire, motivate, and lead designers across all experience levels to do the best work of their career.
- Undertake and steer quarterly resource planning for your squads.

**Experience**:
To be successful in the role, you’ll have the following experience:

- Experience in Digital Product Design for a complex matrixed business.
- Management experience including line management experience; supporting and developing others.
- Team management - Mentorship / coaching Career management including performance management.
- Confident and nuanced communicator who can facilitate design workshops and take the lead in design discussions with Product Owners.
- Data-driven and confident to advise design choices based on customer research, business priority and technical constraints.
- Experience of the full cycle of Design Thinking, and awareness of how to implement this at scale within a growing business.
- Led or played a key role in the design of world-class product design and launch in a fast-growing company before.
- Ability to influence Product Owners, engineering teams and other designers; keen to advocate for best solution; ample pragmatism to realise when compromise is needed.
