**JOB TITLE**:HR Advisor

**REPORTS TO**:HR & Operations Director

**LOCATION**:Based at Lilliput Surgery, but travel to other sites may be required

Shore Medical is a GP Super Partnership with 6 practices across Poole and Bournemouth. We aspire to offer exceptional care to our 58,000 patients and are innovative in our approach to developing new teams and pathways to ever improve how general practice is delivered. We have a friendly and supportive team of more than 200 staff, with over 40 GP’s, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Nurses, Mental Health specialists and our range of administrative staff. We have a great social side to our team with Summer and Christmas parties, running and paddle boarding groups as well as many other events throughout the year.

- Lilliput Surgery
- Poole Road Medical Centre
- Wessex Road Surgery
- Heatherview Medical Centre
- Fernside Surgery
- Parkstone Tower Practice

Situated in beautiful Dorset with the prestigious Blue Flag beaches of Bournemouth and Sandbanks, the Jurassic coastline and a wealth of attractions and countryside to visit we are lucky to be in such a fantastic area.
- Based at our **Lilliput Surgery in Poole, Dorset **on a Permanent, Part-time basis.

30 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-3pm

**Duties and responsibilities**:
**Employee Handbook and Contract of Employment**:

- Working with Director of Compliance and HR to ensure Employee Handbook and Contracts of Employment are kept up to date and regularly reviewed considering legislative changes.

**Recruitment and selection**:

- Using company procedure, assist Practice Managers with implementing Recruitment and Selection Policy with vacancies (where possible) internally and externally as per with Recruitment agencies, Job boards etc.
- Ensure appropriately skilled staff are recruited and that recruitment, appraisal and disciplinary procedures are adhered to in line with the Equal Opportunities Policy. Ensure all references are taken up, qualifications and DBS verified (where possible).
- To devise and implement staff development programmes including induction. Ensure that a full and comprehensive induction is provided for all staff joining the company
- Make sure each member of staff has a job description with objective
- Ensure Induction Plan arranged and agreed with relevant departments for all new starters.
- Ensure all new employees receive relevant contract and employee handbook once offer of employment made
- Ensure documents issued are returned before the new employee commences
- Liaise with relevant departments prior to the start date, for Induction Plan

**Training**:

- Ensure training records and certificates are entered into personnel files
- Assist in sourcing external training providers for courses required, and obtain best possible rate(s)
- Support Director of Compliance and HR, GP Partners, Directors and Practice Managers in external and internal training

**Performance appraisals**:

- Ensure timely completion of staff appraisals before end of probation period and annually thereafter.
- Review appraisals and ensure any actions are monitored and followed up
- Monitor Agreed Action Plan(s)
- Implement yearly Staff Appraisals and training analysis from the information given

**Procedures**:

- Ensure employee relations are managed effectively throughout the company and all employees are dealt with fairly and consistently.
- Provide appropriate professional advice to staff when needed
- Monitor and assist in management of effective procedures for dealing with discipline and grievance matters
- Assisting Director of Compliance and HR to ensure the company complies with Data Protection in matters relating to employee records
- Assist Practice Managers in maintaining accurate personnel records including training, attendance etc
- Assist in implementing policies and procedures that will minimise periods of absence other than annual leave
- Assist Practice Managers with monitoring absence trends and support managers in dealing with individual cases

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:

- Member of CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) at Associate level or higher
- Educated to high standard of GCSE in Maths, English language
- Strong IT skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Show a commitment to Continuous Professional Development
- Proven experience in a senior HR role
- Experience of introducing policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation
- Experience of working successfully with people, individually and in groups
- Professional approach, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior company executives.
- Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view.
- Ability to solve problems and use initiative
- Have tact, diplomacy and a sense of humour
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality.
