Commercial Business Developer - UK Grid Connections Location(s): Swindon, Wiltshire, GB, SN5 6PB RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, Swindon To start as soon as possible, Full time, Permanent The Commercial Asset Management function within RWE Supply & Trading develops opportunities by connecting Generation, Trading and Grid Business combined with Market and Regulatory expertise. In this environment, the UK Asset and Battery Development teams which are responsible for developing projects to financial close, are looking for a highly motivated flexible colleague with technical expertise in Power Grid connections. As the power grids are increasingly challenged to support a burgeoning range and volume of connections it is critical to be proactive and "best-in-class" in all technical and commercial aspects of grid connections in order to realise new asset development projects. Projects include standalone batteries, assets such as synchronous condensers providing essential services to Grid, flexible gas peaking plant and connecting RWE Generation assets to industrial/commercial counterparts. This is a great opportunity to use your technical and commercial strengths to help RWE facilitate the energy transition through managing all aspects of grid connection. **Responsibilities**: You are responsible for advising on all aspects of the grid connection process, including successful development of projects Actively and autonomously drive DNO/TNO to speed up processes. Working with the development team: negotiate and optimise solutions to find the lowest cost/highest value connection option. Review connection offers and advise the development team summarising costs, scope of work, cashflows and options. Manage development/scouting of new connections Analysis of National Grid and DNO publications and provide advice regarding future needs for locational stability services, analysis of targeted locations. **Profile**: Background in grid connections with a track record of taking ownership of relevant activities and “making things work” Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to thrive in a team environment and strive for transparency and collaboration with integrity, openness, willingness for change and trust Experience in identifying opportunities, analysing requirements and developing technical and commercial solutions Experience in UK energy market and the ability to translate regulatory changes into business opportunities Excellent command of English (negotiating level) Prefeably a technical degree - Engineering or similar What we value most is curiosity, ambition, resilience and authenticity.
