Head of Finance and Information Systems

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a strategic and passionate individual to join us in the capacity of Head of Finance and Information Systems.

As a member of the Senior Leadership team, the purpose of this role is to provide strategic financial direction and management to SEM. This includes financial management and planning, financial reporting, people management, and ensuring compliance to all relevant laws, policies and procedures. The post holder is also responsible for the strategic development and implementation of effective and efficient Information Systems to support the company‘s strategic objectives and standards.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Act as a member of the Senior Leadership team, deputising for the Managing Directors and actively supporting with important company decisions
- Lead, mentor and develop the Accounts and Information Systems (IS) teams by defining job expectations, planning, monitoring and supporting individuals to achieve results and perform at their best.
- Monitor financial performance, develop business KPIs and projection of cash flow.
- Consolidation of timely and accurate monthly accounts, summaries and reports based on financial data in order to update on company progress.
- Analyse risks and opportunities associated with finance management, develop mitigation strategies and ensure accounting records meet internal and legal requirements.
- Production cost calculation, controlling and monitoring.
- Acting as the key contact for the German Headquarters and UK group companies with relation to any accounting, Information Systems and controlling topics.
- Develop, implement and maintain financial management procedures and control measures to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and current legislation. Identify corrective measures as and when required to ensure accuracy and fraud prevention and management of routine audits.
- Working cross-functionally with internal and inter group teams to continually improve forecasting and budgeting systems as an aid to developing and analysing longer-term strategies.
- Delivery of the company Information Systems strategy to facilitate communications, information flow and management information, ensuring appropriate use of IT based systems.
- Coordination and support of necessary customised system software updates within the company together with the Information Systems and IT departments.
- Maintaining relevant knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and benchmarking best-practice.

**Our perfect Head of Finance and Information Systems would have**:

- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of managing an accounting team preferably within a similar industry
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to drive and support organisational changes and improvements
- In-depth knowledge of financial and accounting topics, auditing and tax compliance, duty and customs regulations and other regulatory matters (UK GAAP)
- Proven understanding of reporting processes within multinational organisations
- Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and gap assessments
- Strong understanding of production cost control
- The ability to identify key risks and opportunities that may have a financial impact
- Demonstrable experience in developing, implementing and delivering against KPI’s
