**Summary**

We are seeking a Trainee Lead Driller to join our team at Filpumps Ltd. In this role, will be under the instruction of Lead Driller or a Service Engineer always for assisting in pre-determined water well drilling activities or maintenance activities and installations as set out by the Service Department and/or service engineers. These activities are to be carried out in a safe, timely, courteous, and professional manner.

Engage in daily dialogue with Lead Driller and/or Service Engineers and Service Management in connection with activities completed and activities pending.

Actively contribute to improve working standards, quality of service and safe working practices.

The role includes working away from home and flexibility is necessary to meet our customer obligations with adequate notice. In some instances, this may not be possible, but the business will attempt to provide as much notice as possible.

**Key Tasks**
- To listen carefully to instruction provided by the Lead Driller and to carry out these instructions as required without deviation.
- To keep accurate Drill logs for every Borehole drilled for our records and to pass onto third parties.
- Assist in all work activities as directed by the Service Supervisor or Lead Driller and/or Service Engineer.
- Complete training in Welding steel casings.
- Supervised Drill Rig drilling operations.
- Be customer focused and aim to provide “best service and quality” of work.
- Organisation of core Drilling activities and materials handling/restocking.
- Materials loading and unloading.
- Refueling equipment.
- Maintain Site tidiness.

**Performance Measures**
- Monthly appraisal by Line Manager including using feedback from the Lead Driller.
- Flexibility within the job role with requests for assistance within the business.
- Attitude to work instruction and completing the task timeously.
- Taking and acting on instruction from Supervisor or others.
- Professionalism to clients and company.
- Drilling equipment clean down after jobs and thorough clean up between jobs, so the equipment is safe to transport and presentable always.
- Job preparation between jobs, restocking and loading Drilling materials.
- Team working involvement.
- Clean and professional company image should be delivered always including vehicle.
- Time keeping and availability for work.
- Timesheets to be completed accurately with vehicle checks and signed, these should be forwarded to departmental managers first thing Monday morning.
- When on at base keeping workshop, yard areas tidy including wash bay and undertaking any other reasonable duties.
- Completion of all identified and necessary training.

**Key skills**
- Communication with the office with a minimum number of 2 x times per day.
- Develop the supervisory skills necessary to achieve the required NOCN accreditation.
- Manage the flow of materials for all jobs and job preparation.
- Good Time keeping.
- Always maintain and present a professional company image including that of the equipment, plant, personal corporate and safety clothing.
- Practical manual work experience.
- Flexibility within work activities.
- Ability to interact with colleagues and customers.
- Always following company policies regarding working safely with a responsibility and understanding of health & safety relating to the individual and to the effect on others in the work area.
- Driving Licence.
- Proactive approach to job management and logistics to maximise efficiency.
