**Introduction**

We are an established charity with over 20 years of experience as a charity and social enterprise in the catering and hospitality sector, providing training and skills as well as employability placements to individuals with learning disabilities, difficulties, as well as other challenges and vulnerabilities.

We currently operate a high-quality hospitality business incorporating a 40-seater coffee shop, outside catering provision, meeting space with 50 delegate capacity and bakery production of handcrafted bakery products for the retail sector.

**Job Purpose**

In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and overview of the trainee experience including being the primary contact and liaison with all Trainees’ support teams. You will work closely with Training Leads to ensure they are fully informed of the needs of each Trainee assigned to their area of work and to approve and agree any approach made to their support team to ensure consistency of approach and message.

You will play a key role in supporting trainees to undertake formal qualifications and work as part of our employability programme, supporting trainees in their journey towards, and into, employment.

**Key responsibilities**:
**The Trainee Experience**
- Deliver personal learning and support planning in conjunction with trainees and their multi-disciplinary teams when necessary
- Support each trainee so they are on an individual learning programme designed to meet the requirements and level unique to their abilities
- Provide appropriate support to learners to help them achieve
- Ensure all trainees are supported to choose an area of work where they will take on responsibility for their work and help in training new trainees, those on a learning journey or working towards employment
- Provide opportunities that develop life skills as well as on the job training.
- Provide meaningful work which is inclusive
- Plan for and attend trainee review meetings with multi-disciplinary teams
- For those trainees who are undertaking qualifications:
Act as the SQA coordinator for the organisation, being the first point of contact between the centre and SQA

To train and assess learners in their realistic working environment.

To conduct regular training and assessment visits and reviews with all learners in line with SQA requirements.

Ensure appropriate documents and tools are used to record progress and achievement, complying with both contractual and internal requirements

Ensure learner files and training plans are of a high standard of accuracy and are frequently updated and used as an integral part of the learners’ programme.

Conduct training and assessments with the learners in the working environment, using national occupational standards and evidence requirements, set by appropriate awarding bodies and sector skills councils to achieve their frameworks.

To liaise with Internal Moderator to discuss quality procedures and adherence to Assessment Policy

Ensure English, Math and ICT are delivered and embedded in all programmes for trainees

Ensure electronic learner and wellbeing tracker is updated regularly and barriers to progress identified.

Have lead responsibility for data management
- For all in the work area ensure on and off the job training is monitored and recorded showing learner progress and links to achievement.

**Trainee Participation**

Develop and implement processes and system to ensure we are listening to our trainees and using their feedback in the development of the organisation. This will include:

- Trainee 1:1 meetings
- Trainee focus groups
- Parent/ carer engagement plan
- Participation plan

**Staff Learning & Development**
- Take the lead in organising and overseeing staff training and development, working with other members of the management team to identify staff learning needs and sourcing relevant training.

**General tasks**
- With support of the management team, monitor, control and manage business operations to meet trainee needs, customer expectations and Fly Cup’s operational and strategic goals.
- Liaise between staff to ensure smooth operations delivery.
- Coordinate and manage project tasks to ensure project delivery within allotted budget and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with Fly Cup’s standards and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong team relationship through regular meetings/briefings and communications.
- Supply data for evaluation of current operational performance and contribute to the development of the operational plan to achieve continuous improvements.
- Provide direction and guidance to staff teams to achieve performance targets.
- Identify problems in operations process and delivery and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Follow standard operating procedures for efficient business operations.
