**Brief**

Project Controller needed for a leading defence and security organisation with offices in the Portsmouth area who are looking to employ a number of experienced and well-rounded Project Controllers that takes pride in their work.

As a Project Controller, you will be supporting/guiding the Project Team and will play an integral role in helping to shape the PMO function/services and managing the performance of a large programme of work, including: tracking project milestones, supportthe adoption of project lifecyle, risk and issue management, facilitating Lesson Learnt reviews, maintaining the Information Management Repository, support Portfolio Level Reporting and Reviews.

**What the role of the Project Controller entails**:
Some of the main duties of the Project Controller will include:

- Supporting portfolios, programmes and projects
- Application of monthly governance processes
- Analysing of monthly finance activities for portfolio or programme, including reviewing budget expenditure, forecast updates and estimates, managing contingency funds and drawdowns
- Maintaining and managing the project schedule
- Regulating of baseline change control process
- Facilitating of monthly risk review workshops to assess risk position and status of mitigation actions
- Supporting the Delivery Lead to ensure efficient delivery of PMO services

**What experience you need to be the successful Project Controller**:
**Essential**:

- Broad Project Controller experience demonstrated in a professional role within a significant business or project
- Extensive level of understanding and knowledge of one of more Project Management tools, techniques and practices
- Experience of building relationships and negotiating outcomes with internal stakeholders

**Desirable**:

- Confident user of MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
- Understanding of Project Management and PMO Policies
- Understanding of SAP ERP
- Understanding PM methodologies and toolsets
