An exciting opportunity has arisen for a **Chief Information and Digital Officer** to join a Local Authority in **Slough** on a contract basis.

As a Chief Information and Digital Officer you’ll play a vital role in strategically lead the group of Managers within the IT & Digital function and will report into the Associate Director Business Services.

You’ll be someone with outstanding communication and influencing skills, with proven ability to build effective relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders, capable of flexing your style, to understand and engage with different audiences. **About the role**

Based in Berkshire, you will be responsible for:

- Provide mentoring, coaching and development to the ‘Acting up’ Group Manager ICT
- Developing and implementing a digital-first approach to service delivery, working closely with colleagues at all levels of the organisation to ensure residentsbenefit from the full range of opportunities presented by digital solutions.
- Managing and integrating a range of service demands, deal with serious or complex escalated issues. Utilising robust skills to influence, develop, performance manage, motivate, and empower the IT & Digital teams whilst role modelling the values of SloughBorough Council. As the senior manager for this operational area, this post will be required to attend meetings, present, prepare reports and relevant documents and foster strong relationships with members of the public, elected members and colleagues on specialistareas providing advice, support and direction as appropriate.
- Taking on a strategic advisory role with all services. The CDIO will agree the governance to support the managed and appropriate deployment of technology across the organisation.They will influence (and contribute) to the development of all service deliveryplans in collaboration with the ‘acting group manager’ and Associate Director

**About you**
- Demonstrable ability to develop and implement digital delivery with a measurable impact for service users.
- Digital systems and IT solutions experience of developing new digital ways of working, that are intuitive, and customer focused

**Experience which is not essential but desirable includes:**
- Working for a local authority on an interim contract basis

**What’s on offer**

**Salary**: £600 per day

Contract type: 6 months + Potential for extension

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30-37 hours per week
