We are a leading recruitment agency specialising in connecting talented individuals with fulfilling opportunities in the education sector. We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Classroom Assistant to join one of our diverse client schools in Poole.

**Position**: SEND Classroom Assistant
**Location**: Poole, Dorset
**Hours**: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 15:45
**Contract**: Permanent

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide support to children aged 3-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including sensory, communication, medical, and physical needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s) and support strategies tailored to each student's unique requirements.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes the holistic development of students.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the delivery of personalised support and interventions.
- Promote independence and social inclusion through engagement in classroom activities and educational programs.

**Requirements**:

- Experience working or volunteering in a relevant setting such as Health and Social Care, Community Work, Childcare, Education, or Activity Clubs.
- Demonstrated understanding and empathy for individuals with learning disabilities and additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges in the classroom environment.
- Commitment to pursuing a long-term career in special education and continuous professional development.
