This is an excellent opportunity to join a FTSE 250 Insurance company supporting various innovation squads as they create new “Cloud First” solutions to add value to the business.

**WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?**

Working with various innovation squads you will help to ensure their infrastructure in the Cloud is properly managed, secure and cost effective. You will perform a traditional SRE role with the goal of automating all things infrastructure and ensuring itis wholly scripted and deployed as part of an automated DevOps CI/CD pipeline with little or no human interaction.

You will make good use of tools like Azure DevOps, Puppet, Docker, YAML and Terraform.

There will be lots of work around ensuring environments are secure, perform well, are scalable and consistent (through scripting).

You will be able to support squad engineers with the design and architecture of the overall solution and participate in incident management, problem resolution and root cause analysis scenarios.

Day to day you will work alongside engineers, pairing and collaborating. You will work in an agile manner within sprints and help the engineers grow their knowledge of SRE techniques so they can self-serve as much as possible. Knowledge sharing and collaboratingwith wider SRE and cloud team members is key to the growth of the team and the business.

**WE NEED YOU TO HAVE**
- Experience of working as an engineer, working on solutions in the cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP) or hybrid
- A strong interest and awareness of all cloud providers and their services
- To have a strong desire for continuous improvement and an Agile way of working
- Have the intellect and gravitas to influence and gain credibility with IT and Business personnel and management
- In-depth knowledge of the Insurance Market with Lloyd’s market experience particularly useful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and external to the business. Able to convey ideas and information clearly and in a manner appropriate to all levels of audiences
- Creative, proactive, logical and innovative - you do not accept the status quo - and will push hard for innovation and automation
- Highly results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a very fast paced environment where the pace of response is critical to success
- Exposure to the full project life cycle, from inception to user acceptance testing and live running and operations
- Demonstrate good decision making, evaluating the implication of various options before deciding and then showing commitment to and accountability for that decision
- Works well in cross-functional groups with peers, subordinates and seniors, encourages participation and involvement of team members through being open and approachable
