**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title** - Site Operator / Engineer YO61 Thirsk

**Reporting Manager** - Supervisor

As the Site Operator for the business you will be responsible for the day to day operations on site, including paperwork as required and monitoring of the plant either on site or remotely. The role will include, cleaning of the plant and machinery and delivering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance PPM requirements and as directed by the Supervisor on site.

The individual must be able to demonstrate a successful career to date, preferably with experience and knowledge of the Anaerobic Digestion / Renewable sector. Individuals with an engineering / mechanical background will be considered.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Problem solving - investigating mechanical and electrical failures, diagnosing the problem and report back to the maintenance team.
- Use of the SCADA system to manage the plant and ensure the required performance is met and maintained.
- Daily operational and maintenance duties. This will include housekeeping tasks, data collection, input onto the system and meter readings.
- Scheduled (PPM) and unscheduled maintenance
- There is a requirement to organize and schedule third party contractors in accordance with the site PPM schedule.
- Ensuring the reports and required information are sent promptly and on time to the gas network.
- Daily site checks, completing the paperwork and ensuring compliance with the EA site permit. This will include completing any remedial works to meet the required standards.
- Feeding the AD plant, using a telehandler / loading shovel.
- Completing daily, weekly and monthly mobile and fixed plant checks, reporting defects, greasing, refueling, hydraulics and engine oil checks
- Breakdown response and attending call outs. This will be out of hours and at weekends on a rota basis as defined by the Site Supervisor
- Following safe systems of work and RAMS.
- Ensuring contractors that are working on site as doing so safely and in accordance with their RAMs and company policy.
- Monthly meter readings
- Ordering stock and completing a weekly stock take, to include office stocks, water, fuel, oils, grease (this list is neither definitive nor exhaustive).
- Booking collections and services for the site, for example skips, servicing of mobile plant and fixed plant (this list is neither definitive nor exhaustive)
- Taking samples as required in accordance with the testing schedule and site requirement. Ensuring the samples are ready for collection, correctly labelled and packaged.
- Working safely to ensure the safety of yourself and others, this includes following SSOW and risk assessments.
- Managing the feedstock availability in accordance with the site feed plan. Any shortfalls will need to be notified as soon as possible.
- Work with the operations manager in creating new SSOW and reviewing those documents to ensure they reflect how you work on site
- Following a permit to work system
- IT literacy and completion of service reports
- Organising other staff that attend site, work on site to ensure the operating hours and out of hours are covered accordingly
- Keeping the site clean and tidy
- Completing paperwork in accordance with the EA permit and EMS
- Recording material fed into the plant, delivered to the site and stored in the clamps. Recording material removed from site.
- Working with the manager to ensure that the site is run efficiently and to maximize gas / electricity output in accordance with the operating contract
- Operating the weighbridge and correctly recording inputs and outputs. Entering the data on a spreadsheet in accordance with the EA permit requirement

**Details of the role**

- Travel may be with this post to various locations in the UK

- Full driving licence essential

**Training / Qualifications**
- AD experience - desirable
- Mechanical experience - essential
- Electrical experience - desirable
- Telehandler operation - essential (training will be given)
