Valmiera Glass UK Ltd. is one of the leading manufacturers in Europe of products based on glass fibre.

**Overall function and description of the job**:
To weave high quality fabric at the maximum attainable efficiency, by correct patrolling, starting, stopping, flagging of looms and repairing weaving faults.

**Main duties**:

- Patrol loom sets checking quality of fabric and condition of weavers beams continuously. Inspect fabric using inspection loom spotlights (where applicable).
- Observe and respond to loom lights which indicate type of faults.
- Repair faults, including the most frequent: weft package run out, warp break, weft break, selvedge spool break or run out, without leaving a start mark.
- Report any condition reducing efficiency or quality on the set to the Section Leader.
- Clean weft feeder/accumulator as required, at least once per shift, ensuring weft channel is free from dirt and contamination.
- Change weaving glue regularly.
- Be aware of fabric faults and what they look like (fabric defects standards manual), taking appropriate corrective action and notifying the section leader, and recording details.
- Document quality and/or other faults, ensuring continuity between shifts.
- Rotating shift work
- 5 x 7.5 hours 3 shift working rotating (early shift 6am-2pm, Late shift 2pm-10pm, Night shift 10pm-6am )

**Salary**: £13.38 per hour
