This is a key strategic and hands-on role that requires a motivated, self-starting expert to shape the future of the digital communications strategy.
The role
The Group Head of Digital Communications is responsible for the strategy and management of Hiscox’s digital channels inside and outside the business. The role works closely with regional and global Communications and Marketing partners to understand and oversee the global Hiscox digital footprint. The role consults and advises on appropriate channels and formats for the external and internal communications strategies and maintains oversight of global activations to bring the Hiscox story to life in an engaging digital fashion, as well as to manage reputational risk.
What you’ll be doing
The Head of Digital Communications will lead the digital channel strategy for Hiscox’s reputational teams, understanding, testing and advising on the appropriate channels and formats to reach our key audiences, as well as implementing appropriate controls and measures to monitor the effective use and impact of existing and future channels.
The role works in close collaboration with the Head of External Communications and the Head of Internal Communications to ensure a consistent “one Hiscox” presence across all channels.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Develops and owns the digital communications strategy inside and outside the business, including creative strategies and close partnership with Marketing colleagues
- Line manage the Group Digital Comms Consultant and Group Design Lead and matrix management responsibilities as required by different projects
- Content development and implementation across owned digital channels
- Social media monitoring, measurement and crisis / issues advisory
- Ownership of the Hiscox global intranet, The Gallery
- Ownership of the Hiscox Group website including content, strategy and updates
- Oversight of Group Designers in support of digital strategy
Skills and Experience
- Digital channel strategist with proven expertise in advising and launching social programmes
- International and global understanding / experience
- Development of appropriate social media monitoring and measurement structures
- Hands-on content development practitioner with proven success in multiple channels
- Collaborative leader and business partner with understanding of internal and external audience needs
- Experience working in a collaborative matrix in partnership with sales and marketing colleagues
- Executive digital profile experience
