**Job Specification**
To provide a level of maintenance to **ensure** **that the home premises remains functional and in good repair,** under the guidance and supervision of the Owner/Manager and to undertake other activities to assist in the running of Treetops Nursing Home as required.
Whilst it is not essential to have English as the first language, a good understanding of English is required.
- Performing routine cleaning and sanitising, including specialist cleaning of delicate or high-value items such as entry systems, security equipment and lifts.
- Completing small repairs such as fixing locks, leaky taps, and broken windows
- Checking and maintaining safety equipment such as fire alarms, fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors
- Performing grounds maintenance such as mowing lawns, trimming bushes, fencing and replacing exterior light bulbs
- Inspecting and troubleshooting problems and issues reported by clients or colleagues.
- Maintaining vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform the role effectively.
- Following a maintenance schedule to ensure that all routine tasks are completed.
- Inspecting, testing, and repairing facilities equipment and systems, such as electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and air-conditioning
- Conducting regular inspections to determine which areas in the building need attention and perform preventive maintenance following building regulations.
- Installing or upgrading equipment and appliances
- Cleaning, lubricating, greasing, oiling, and painting machinery, tools, and surfaces.
- Completing minor roofing repairs and keeping rooflines and drains clear of debris.
- Keeping a maintenance log and writing shift reports.
- Complying with all company safety regulations and reporting any issues to the Home Manager or Business Directors.
- Taking inventory of cleaning supplies and tools
- Evaluating and repairing issues as they arise and communicating with management when external providers are required.
- Requisitioning the necessary supplies, equipment, and tools, monitoring inventory and working within a budget.
- Ensuring safe working practices and that a building is compliant with safety and quality regulations including maintaining fire, smoke, carbon monoxide and other safety systems.
- Overseeing contractors and other workers who are unfamiliar with a building’s layout.
- To report to the Owner Manager/Senior in Charge any verbal concerns or complaints raised by the residents or visitors.
- To recognise your own operative limitations and to seek guidance from the Owner/Manager or external providers as appropriate.
- To refer all enquiries regarding the care or condition of service users to the Owner/Manager/senior nursing staff irrespective of the source of the enquiry.
- To respect the rights of service users including privacy and dignity.
- To attend staff and other meetings as requested.
- To undertake any other duties as and when required.
- To abide by all Policies and Procedures.
- To always respect the confidentiality of the residents and the home life.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £14.00 per hour
