Carer/driver - Dog Day Care
At Bruce’s we unleash happiness and enrich dogs’ lives. Founded in 2008, we have become the UK’s recognised leader in a sector that is experiencing exponential growth.
Our founder, Bruce Casalis, sits on the board of directors for the Pet Industry Federation and has acted as an advisor for the likes of DEFRA, Dogs Trust and RSPCA.
We’re fluent in dog. We go beyond ‘woof’ to a deep understanding of what makes each tail wag. We’re always striving to learn more about dogs and to care for them better. Our expertise means that we allow dogs to be dogs, and everything we do is dog-first. Dogs are our moral compass.
Our centres are divided into classes based on size and play style such as Agility Adventures, featuring agility obstacles to unlock the doggy senses and Curiosity Corner with a sensory zone and open spaces to run and play with canine companions.
We are now recruiting at our Woodcote Green daycare for a loyal, motivated full time CARER/DRIVER who will love being surrounded by dogs, caring for their safe and healthy transportation to and from day care and provide our customers with outstanding service. This route will be starting around the Brixton/ Dulwich so it is preferable that you would be from this area or nearby and will involve transporting dogs to and from our Daycare in Woodcote Green, Wallington.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Safely transporting dogs to and from Daycare in our Bruce’s Doggy Busses and caring for them in the fields at our centre.
- Excellent customer service skills when talking to our customers at pick up and drop off, as many Drivers are the ‘face of Bruce’s’ for lots of our customers
- Demonstrate our Values at all times; Caring, Reliable, Positive and Passionate
- Safely loading and unloading dogs into and out of the doggy busses
- Maintaining a clean, comfortable and hygienic doggy bus (including cleaning the dogs down when it's muddy)
- Ensure the safety of all dogs is never compromised whilst they remain in our care (leads, gates, speeding, cornering).
- Upon arrival at the Centre support the other carers to deliver all enrichment routines (including photos), contributing suggestions to improve dog behavior.
- Following customers instructions for pick up and drop off, e.g. lunches, where to leave the dog if the owner is not in, securing property.
- Bathing, washing and toweling dogs prior to drop off.
- Check each dog’s notes before dropping off for any updates to give to customers
- Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and legally compliant
- You will be the face of Bruce’s for 50% of our customers, you will have the confidence and service ability to deal with customer queries as well as explaining dog behaviour concerns at the doorstep.
