Early Days in Custody Nurse Practice Plus Group – Primary Care team at HMP Brixton, a category C prison in London Borough of Lambeth. About the Role Provide front‑line nursing care within a secure prison environment, focusing on early detection and prevention of hospital admissions. Work within a multi‑disciplinary team, leading clinics, conducting examinations and responding to emergencies. Hours and Salary Full‑time, 4 days a week, 07:30‑18:00 (incl. weekends). Annual salary up to £53,172, based on experience. Support and Development Bespoke induction and the Introducing Health in Justice training course Competency framework and regional/national career development opportunities Access to a bespoke Learning Management System Ongoing support from the wider team Responsibilities Develop and lead clinics, undertake examinations and tests, and attend emergency alarms as first responder. Deliver a nurse‑led service in collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary team, preventing hospital admissions. Apply and develop skills to enhance clinical service delivery. Qualifications Registered Nurse (Adult), NMC qualified. Evidence of continued professional development. Excellent communication, good IT skills and IT literacy.
