**The role**
Phoenix Group is the second largest provider of with-profits business in the UK. We are responsible for managing 21 with-profits funds and only one of these funds is expected to close within the next 10 years, demonstrating the longevity of our with-profits business.
We are recruiting for a technical role at the Senior Leadership level to support the effective management of our 21 with-profits funds. The work you do will have a direct impact on our with-profits policyholders.
You will be responsible for driving forward proposals and the implementation of business developments to improve the fair run off of our with-profits funds. You may also be asked to support wider strategic initiatives impacting with-profit funds, support or own with-profits projects, provide technical consultancy support for BAU activity and/ or perform deep dives into key areas impacting the management of our with-profits business.
You will work in accordance with regulatory requirements, policyholders' reasonable expectations and the principles of treating customers fairly.
We expect you to stay abreast of industry best practice and actions others are taking in the context of with-profits business.
You can expect to work most closely with senior stakeholders including With-Profit Actuaries and be able to take proposals to the With-Profits Committee.
**What are we looking for?**
A qualified Actuary with experience of with-profit funds.
You will have strong technical expertise and ideally a deep understanding of risks and issues associated with managing with-profits funds in run off.
Excellent communication skills mean you will work effectively with a technical actuarial audience up to senior and business leadership level and simplify technical communications to a non-technical audience.
