Emerging Markets Trader - E - London

About the role

You will be the lead local-currency EM trader, and the primary source of EM market intelligence for Liquid Markets. You’ll be working with our existing EM Trader in the trading of EM hard-currency sovereign debt and credit. This role is part of a Global Trading team, meaning that you will need to build and maintain collaborative relationships with traders in other centres including Chicago and Singapore, as well as Emerging Markets and other portfolio managers.

You’re accountable for working on trades in a timely accurate, controlled and cost-efficient manner, ensuing you adhere to compliance and procedures governing the trading process. You will manage allocations across funds in accordance with compliance procedures, whilst minimising both transaction and opportunity costs. You will work with colleagues to introduce and develop increasingly sophisticated trading techniques and tools, to ensure trading best practice is followed.

Skills and experience we are looking for- FCA approved person, with understanding and knowledge of current regulatory environment, compliance and regulatory practices and the implication for trading.- Insight and understanding of Global markets, and specifically Emerging markets.- Significant experience in a similar role - emerging markets trader. In-depth knowledge of all aspects of specific markets with solid trading experience and the ability to execute trades in a timely, accurate controlled and cost-efficient manner- Understanding of portfolio investment processes, together with knowledge and experience of systems to enhance trading,- Proficiency in numeric, literacy and communication skills.

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
