**Summary of key responsibilities/deliverables**
The Technical Training Specialist role is part of the team focused on continuously improving our business performance and people engagement through technical training activities including Health & Safety. They design and develop technical training programmes to ensure our people are tooled and resourced to do their best work today, and even better work tomorrow. They are an agent for change across our business, working with all levels of employees, in particular our engineering groups in the field and working on fibre. This role will be responsible for delivering training to the national workforce and will be required to work across the UK, in particular Scotland and Manchester, as well as attending our training centre in Chichester.
**What will you be doing?**
- Ensure learning activities are carried out in line with programme and syllabus and learning is confirmed
- Produce high quality learning materials in conjunction with engineering input for use in classroom, field or online delivery
- Communicate and liaise with engineering workforce to plan and deliver training in various locations, validate learning through formative and summative assessment, ensuring all activities are correctly documented and reported
Work alongside the Development and People & Culture teams to:
- Support and contribute to the establishment of a learning academy (e.g. Field Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Systems Development), ensuring content, style and delivery methods are best suited to the learners.
- Identify and clearly document key skills required per role/discipline in a manner which our people can readily access and understand, and which can be used to drive learning activities.
- Devise, source and implement technical training activities to meet all skills requirements.
- Devise learning solutions that blend learning through coaching, classroom training, 121 sessions, action learning and e-learning as necessary.
- Ensure our teams can deliver safe, quality and productive work through access to learning materials / instruction.
- Regularly promote a calendar of learning events and feedback to relevant parties.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning and development across all our people.
**What are we looking for?**
- Articulate and confident in presenting to groups
- Skilled in MS Office including use of Excel, Power Point and Word
- Good written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills, able to quickly build a good rapport with individuals at all levels
- Good Knowlege of Fibre Optic network
- Experience in designing and delivering bespoke training
- Experience in a similar training role
