**The Role**

The Training and Technical Specialist will be a part of the Production Management organization with the dual aims of ensuring that new junior employees are given the best early-career training opportunities and ensuring that the whole Production Management workforce upskills towards our transformation target technologies. This role will be accountable for the design, delivery and assessment of skills programs across Production Management.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Collaborate across Application Development, Product and production management to establish and maintain skillset development programs for both junior talent colleagues (for example, Wiley Edge Alumni) and other early-career colleagues.
- Develop and deliver upskill programs both via the Degreed platform and using in-person and remote training courses
- Mentor talent across the Production Management organization, ensuring they have the knowledge, toolset and access in order to be successful
- Measure the effectiveness of the training being delivered and accessed via Degreed and adjust in order to account for both current and future needs
- Reduce levels of grip in the junior population, mitigating attrition
- Continually assess the training and development toolset available to staff within the Production Management organization, identifying, mitigating and remediating gaps
- Encourage the effective use of existing training tools in order to upskill Production Management staff in support of the GTS Transformation Program
- Leverage technical expertise to provide consultation to the GTS Transformation Program

**SPECIFICATIONS**

**Qualifications**:

- 15 years of financial services experience with a large financial services firm or advisory/consulting firm including experience as a trainer and course designer

**Skills and Experience**
- Broad experience across multiple disciplines and processes used in Financial Services companies at scale
- Experience in legacy, current-state and future state platforms, and experience in organizational change between these
- Experience in multiple technology stacks across SDLC including both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies
- Proficiency in one or more technology domains, may be a cross-domain expert able to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across the firm
- Working knowledge of infrastructure components. (E.g. routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage and networks)
- Deep level expertise in instrumentation, customization and usage of modern monitoring toolset such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana etc.
- Expert in at least one of the relational database (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 etc.)
- Working knowledge of Groovy, Batch scripting, Ansible, PowerShell or Shell Scripting
- Comfortable working in Agile mode and proficient in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- Experience training post-graduate and career returning staff in multiple geographies
- Experience creating, delivering and measuring effectiveness of technical training to financial services organizations
