**TEMPORARY GP RECEPTIONIST/ MEDICAL SECETARY**
**DE75 - HEANOR**
**£9.50 PER HOUR**
**MONDAY - FRIDAY**
**FULL TIME - UP TO 37 HOURS**
**Responsibilities -**
- To have a thorough knowledge of and adhere to all Practice policies and procedures, working in accordance with written and agreed protocols and to comply with health and safety legislation, information governance, security and confidentiality and infectioncontrol.
- To provide administrative support to the medical staff, in order to maintain accurate and efficient processing of patient referral letters to hospitals and other secondary care providers
- Audio typing of patient referral letters and inputting of patient data into the computer database
- Dealing with enquiries from patients regarding appointments
- Providing general administrative support to the Practice Team, in order to maintain accurate and available information in patient record
- To undertake computer data entry, in order to maintain an accurate and comprehensive database for use by the Practice and to maintain accurate patient records and statistics, Filing and coding of electronic documents
- Arranging health promotion/chronic disease clinic appointments and associated administration, providing a call and recall service, supporting patients and health professionals in achieving their goals and in particular the NHS and GMS contract targets.
- General administration e.g., antenatal clinic and postnatal appointments, significant event recording, filing of out of hours administration and dealing with enquiries from patients regarding appointments as well as liaising with appropriate service providerdepartments to organize necessary appointments for patients
- Photocopying, filing and posting of mail
- To provide cover for other secretarial and administrative staff

- An ability to use resourcefulness, common sense and by using local knowledge, respond to patient enquiries and requests.
