SW Locums are looking for an experienced Individual for a role in this exciting opportunity which has arisen for a full-time hybrid post for a **DoLS Referral Officer **to join the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team (DoLS) in Slough Council.

You will be part of running the service day to day, supporting the DoLS service’s improvement and development. This is a newly formed highly motivated team who are very supportive of each other.

You MUST Hold Right to work in the UK and have completed Extensive Training in Adult Social Services with particular enthesis on DoLS.

**Your role will be**:
To ensure the statutory responsibilities of the Local Authority are met in relation to the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2009).

To receive, log and progress referrals from Hospitals, Care Homes, Nursing home and other professionals, where it is believed to be, or likely to be, a Deprivation of a Person’s Liberty occurring; thus raising a duty on the Supervisory Body (the Local Authority) to provide assessment, intervention and authorisation to ensure that individuals rights are upheld and promoted within the legal framework of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

**You will be expected to be able to Demonstrate**:

- A sound understanding of the administration process of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and legal requirements of the supervisory body.
- Basic understanding of the principles of the Mental Capacity 2005.
- Previous experience of providing information and advice to the public and / or customers.
- Previous experience in office administration.
- Experience of working within the framework of Mental Capacity 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
- Ability to prioritize incoming work and escalate concerns when required.
- Ability to work independently as required in day to day activities of the role.
