The Catapult is an independent, not-for-profit centre of excellence that bridges the gap between industry, government, academia and research. We take a whole-systems view of the energy sector, helping us to identify and address innovation priorities and market barriers, in order to decarbonise the energy system at the lowest cost. **Context** The role will support the Energy Systems Catapult's operational resource planning and management process where business leaders, project managers and experts collaborate to identify, plan and agree mutually beneficial resource solutions with the right skills and capacity to deliver innovation projects and programmes in pursuit of the net zero mission. **Responsibilities** Support the Catapult's resource allocation process: Organise and Administer the weekly resource planning meeting and support resource planning discussions with colleagues from across the business to agree mutually beneficial resource solutions that will deliver successful innovation outcomes and impact. Support colleagues to allocate and manage internal expert resources across a complex and growing portfolio of innovation projects and programmes. Support colleagues to identify emerging and potential resource capacity issues and mitigations to resolve them. Support colleagues to carry out their own responsibilities in the resource planning and management process, and support best practice in relation to collaboration and communication around resourcing. Support the planned integration of the resource management process with the bid management process and project delivery process. Support work to perform "what if" forecast scenarios and identify potential resource capacity issues and trade-offs to support decision-making. Maintain a resource management information 'system' that comprises linked Excel spreadsheets on SharePoint. Maintain the "back office" log of resource allocation decisions and ensure the resource management system is updated in a timely fashion to reflect those decisions. **What credentials are we ideally looking for ?** Very good people skills, with the ability to initiate and facilitate discussions with project managers and resource managers, securing their continued support to and trust in the process while also ensuring the resource planning and management process is robust and reliable. Assertiveness skills, with the ability to support business leaders, project managers, resource managers and team members in their efforts to negotiate and broker agreement between on mutually beneficial resource solutions. Strong Excel skills, ideally with the ability to perform pivot table analysis and use power query functionality (VBA is not required but may be useful). Experience of supporting project management/delivery and resource management.
