JOB DESCRIPTION - AFTER SCHOOL CLUB COORDINATOR POST TITLE: After School Club Coordinator POINT: 14 - 18

1. Main Purpose of the Job - Planning, preparing and delivering a suitable programme of imaginative and innovative activities suitable to the needs and interests of children age 4- 11 yrs old
- Planning and preparation of fun and nutritious snacks for children.
- Purchasing toys and equipment as necessary within agreed budget and keeping appropriate financial records.
- First point of contact for handling and resolving complaints from parents.
- Producing written or verbal termly co-ordinator reports.
- Ensuring the safe collection and transportation of children between the classes and the club.
- Managing and leading staff employed by the club and support volunteers.
- Ensuring delivery of creative play opportunities in a safe and caring environment.
- Assisting in the administration of the club, keeping relevant records and ensuring that the agreed club procedures are implemented.
- Communicating and liaising with parents, the School Office Manager and Head teacher.
- Implementing an induction programme with any new staff.
- Ensuring that areas are cleared at the end of sessions. Adhering to legal responsibilities and duties under the 1989 Children Act, Care Standards Act 2000 and the Health and Safety Act, to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves, staff, children and members of the public who use the club.

2. Knowledge/Experience required
- Experience of working with 4 - 11 year olds and their families
- Knowledge and understanding of child development.
- Understanding and commitment to good quality childcare
- Experience of co-ordination desirable.

3. Qualifications required
- A suitable childcare qualification (desirable). (NVQ level 3 or above in childcare, playwork or equivalent) - First aid certificate desirable.
- Basic food hygiene certification. (desirable)
- Basic Health and safety certificate. (desirable)
- Safeguarding training. (we will provide)

4. Skills required:
a. Ability to meet individual needs of children

b. Ability to provide and facilitate safe and creative play.

c. Ability to lead and manage a team.

d. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

e. Ability to work on own initiative

f. Understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 43 weeks

Pay: £8.00-£11.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 15 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

- Liverpool, L10 8LE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
