We are looking for an experienced Room Leader to manage our busy Toddler Room.

The role can be 40 or 45 hours per week between the hours of 7.15am - 6.30pm, Monday to Friday

**Responsibilities**

Manage a small team of staff who provide outstanding care for children between the ages of 24 and 36 months.

Duties include:

- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
- Follow company policies and procedures and where necessary seek guidance from the Nursery Manager
- Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members
- Ensure that the nursery offers an environment which reflects the cultural diversity of all children
- To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, fundraising events;
- Look upon the Setting as a “whole” where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children
- Ensure that planning is complete
- Oversee completion of record keeping and daily paper work as required by the office
- Keep staff team up to date with information from the management team
- Run room meetings and attend Room Leader meetings with Nursery Manager
- Be at all times a role model to your staff and the rest of the nursery team
- Overseeing the professionalism of all staff/students in the setting
- Manage staff effectively, ensuring ratios are maintained throughout the setting
- Work with students allocated to your room and their supervisor, passing on your knowledge to them, practically and theoretically
- To provide a wide and varied range of activities for your key children individually and for the group as a whole appropriate to their needs and developmental stage
- To take responsibility for aspects of the work of the nursery as required by the management team
- To undertake regular relevant training and ensure that this is fed back to your team and where necessary implemented into the setting
- Exercise a general duty of care for work colleagues and be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for employees/students under your supervision
