**About the role**
We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Head of Public Affairs to join our Guinness Team on a permanent contract. This is a full-time vacancy, working 35 hours per week based in London. We are currently operating hybrid working, which offers the opportunityto work 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. Specific days to be agreed during the on-boarding process.
The overall purpose of the role is to lead Guinness’s public affairs function, working closely with the CEO and Director, and senior colleagues across the country, to raise Guinness’s profile with key stakeholders nationally and locally, and collaborateacross the sector to secure positive policy outcomes for Guinness and social housing.

**You’ll be able to demonstrate**:
**Essential**:
- An in-depth understanding of the housing sector; up to date knowledge of the national agenda and current policy issues in the sector.
- Significant demonstrable experience of public/external affairs and policy at a senior level.
- Very strong understanding and experience of influencing and lobbying.
- Excellent networking and influencing skills; able to collaborate effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, and significant experience of drafting consultation responses and briefing documents.
- Good presentation skills and experience of presenting to a wide range of audiences.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Leadership and Management Standard.
**Desirable**:
- Experience of organising and managing party conference attendance / events.
- Direct experience of social housing sector.
- Experience of managing a budget.
- Experience of commissioning research that contributes to policy and business outcomes.
**Essential qualifications**:
- Educated to Level 6 (degree or equivalent).
