**Role**: Team Leader/ Senior Team Leader

**Location**: Leyland and Chorley

**Salary**:£32,350 - £36,850**

**Hours**:40 hours per week

**Rota Pattern**:5-week rolling rota. 2 days on shift and 3 days off pattern

(This salary is based on the add-on for sleep ins carried out, £75 per sleep in carried out and an average of 8-10 sleep-ins per month)

Salary broken down: £23,500 - £28,000 + £8,250 = £32,350 - £36,850
- **Total add on's to salary (bonuses)**:

- Attendance bonus**:£500** for 12 months of no sickness. **£250 **for 6 months of no sickness.
- Ofsted bonus**:£100** for a good rating. **£200** for outstanding rating per year.
- Refer a friend scheme: Earn up to **£400** **£100 **when they start with us, **£100** when they stay with us for 3 months and **£200** when the friend passes their probation period.
- **Total= £1,000**:

- 20 days annual leave + 8 days public holidays (this will increase after 3 & 5 years completed employment with Northridge Care group.

**JOB TITLE**: Team Leader / Senior Team Leader.

**REPORTING TO**: Registered Manager.

**JOB PURPOSE**:To work as a senior member of the team in the provision of care and support services for people with emotional and challenging behaviours, which aims to maximise the potential of individuals in line with ordinary life principles. (May be required to take charge of the service in absence of the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager)

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Care**:
1. Assist the Managers in the implementation of the philosophies and policies of the organisation.

2. Assist the Managers in ensuring that each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning. Review and monitor care plans. /contribute to review reports as directed

3. Support and participate in young people’s social, life-long learning plans and recreational activities in line with care plans, trips out and holidays.

4. Act as a Key worker to specified individual young person, taking on responsibility for specified areas of care and support. This includes ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the young person to advocate his/her own needs and wishes.

5. Facilitate and support young people in decision making. Promote choice and involvement.

6. Ensure all Staff Members work in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of young people.

8. Encourage young people to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.

9. Liaise with other agencies/professionals as necessary in conjunction with Managers.

10. Record information about young people and ensure communication with Staff Members.

11. Once trained, administer medication (where applicable) in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and ensure that medical emergencies are dealt with appropriately. Adhere to the Company’s medication policy at all times.

12. Ensure that young peoples’ personal property and clothing is maintained to a high standard and report any requirements to the Managers.

13. Promote good practice in the team in accordance with ordinary life principles, and in line with all Company policies and procedures.

14. Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with young peoples’ personal and financial affairs, and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with young people.

**Communication**:
15. Participate in Staff and young people’s meetings as and when required. Maintain appropriate records as directed

**Human Resources (HR)**:
16. Direct Staff Members in their duties in the absence of the Managers, ensuring that all required tasks are completed.

17. Delegate tasks to Residential Child Care Workers and monitor their effective implementation in conjunction with the Managers.

**Training and Development**:
18. Assist the Managers the induction of new Staff Members and the provision of in-house training, as delegated to do so.

19. Maintain professional knowledge and competence.

20. Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.

**Health & Safety**:
22. Report immediately to the Managers, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a young person, colleague, self or another.

23. Understand, and ensure the implementation of, Northridge Care Group Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures. Follow and undertake risk assessments

24. Report to the Managers and the Handyperson, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
