Job Title: Early Years Deputy Manager **Salary**: £24,289.20 Hours: 8-6 Monday-Friday (45 hours per week) Location: Southport BS Social Care have teamed up with a leading care provider in the Northwest and are looking for an Early Years Deputy Manager to join the Southport Team. The Deputy Early Years Manager will be part of and supervisea team of Early Years Practitioners to ensure the educational and social development of the nursery children and will be Designated behaviour Co-Ordinator for the setting, offering appropriate support, guidance and advice to staff, children, and parents/carers Duties and responsibilities " To take a lead role in the planning and implementation of the Early Years curriculum " To take a lead role in the observation and evaluation of Early Years practice " To ensure the provision and planning of a stimulating environment through play and other activities, in which all children can interact and develop fully, mentally and physically, including outdoor activities and educational visits " To maintain records on each child's physical, social and intellectual skills to be used as a development process and oversee any behaviour issues. " To participate in the planning and implementation of planned activities. " To be directly responsible as a key worker for the preparation and supervision of activities and display of children's work " To supervise and care for children at mealtimes " To toilet and change children when necessary " To participate in all Nursery activities and appropriate staff meetings " Ensure that staff/child ratios are maintained on a day-to-day basis " To liaise with parents regarding the children's welfare " To ensure that liaison with parents and introductory visits of new children take place " To be aware of and act in accordance with current developments/legislation in Early Years and company policies and procedures. " To be proactive in always safeguarding all children. " Undertake the managers key roles in her absence e.g., being the safeguarding lead, taking payments and communicating with parents, overseeing ratios, and upholding key policies. " To uphold personal standards and integrity appropriate to the post and consistent with the values of the organisation. " To develop and maintain professional standards and expertise by undertaking relevant professional development " To participate in the organisation's Staff Performance Management Review " To comply with the organisation's Financial Regulations and Health and Safety at Work policies and procedures " To comply with the organisation's Equality and Diversity policies and procedures " To maintain a flexible and team working approach and perform such other duties as may be required. " To be involved in and out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings. **Requirements**: Childcare qualification level 3 or above. Comfortable with the use of computers and IT including Microsoft Office 365 Experience of working with children 0-4 years old Knowledge of how to maintain records on individual children's development Knowledge of safeguarding children Knowledge of child development Organised with excellent planning and time management Strong people management skills Ability to work as part of a team Ability to manage own workload committed to own personal development and CPD planning Courteous manner towards all staff and parents
