**Finance Assistant**
**Bridgend** **- Up to £23,000 per annum based on skills and experience.**
An exciting opportunity to join an expanding company that has recently achieved listing on the London Stock Market.
As the successful Finance Assistant, you will assist your colleagues ensuring all Finance related tasks are carried out effectively within the department. You will join a fun, friendly and enthusiastic team. There is also the potential to work towards an AAT qualification should you be looking to start or have already commenced with your studies.
**Location**: Bridgend, South Wales.
**Working Hours** : 9am - 5pm Mon - Fri (35 Hrs). Flexibility is required to ensure the needs of the business are met.

**Main Responsibilities**
**_Cash & Bank_**
- Daily bank reconciliation
**_Purchase ledger_**
- To ensure that purchase invoices are coded and posted onto the purchase ledger in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy
- Assist PL Clerk in monitoring Invoices inbox
- Timely processing of invoices received ensuring that all invoices are authorised by relevant department managers prior to posting onto Sage
- Deal with invoice queries in an effective and timely manner
- Support the business with making and administering hotel bookings
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Maintaining the accuracy of vendor details
- Provide holiday cover for purchase ledger clerk
**_Payroll_**
- Learn core payroll processes and provide holiday cover for payroll clerk
**_Expenses_**
- Monitor Equals Prepaid Card Expenses - check, receipts, top up cards and post journals
- Manage the process to reimburse of out-of-pocket employee expenses
- Coding of Business Credit cards
**Essential requirements**:
- Educated to GCSE level or above (including English & Maths - Grade C)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer literate and able to work with IT software packages.
**Desirable requirements**:
- Experience using Sage accounts package and Microsoft Office is preferable but not essential
- Experience of working in a busy office.
- Prior purchase ledger and or payroll experience.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, particularly with experience of payroll and purchase ledger.
