The Third Floor is the world’s leading visualization studio dedicated to supporting the production of next-generation film, television, streaming, immersive and themed content. Working hand in hand with directors and key crew, the company helps create compelling visuals by using the virtual world to explore ideas, develop plans and gain efficiencies during the entire creative process. Since its founding in 2004, The Third Floor has contributed to breakthrough projects from _Avatar _to _The Mandalorian_.

**Job Summary**

The Previs Editor is central to any project. The Third Floor’s previs editors will cut together a variety of projects using shots generated by previs artists, temp material provided by the client, sound and music. You will be working directly with high profile clients and your ability to be agile, adaptable, detail-oriented while under tight deadlines is to your advantage. You must know Avid and Premiere like the back of your hand as well cinematography and filmmaking. Knowledge of camera work and lenses is a huge plus.

**Responsibilities**:

- Edit using animated QuickTime movies and storyboards
- Coordinate with the previs supervisor to acquire all shots to be used in the final project
- Participate in story discussions and suggest additional shots
- Edit sound effects and music
- Record temp dialogue and edit into the sequence
- Handle multiple projects and deliver results in a timely manner
- Catalogue and manage all work, edit versions, desktop computer files
- Troubleshoot technical problems and operate independently without assistance
- Knowledge of rough animation/motion graphics on editing platforms

**Essential Skills**:

- Extensive professional experience in digital editing using Avid or Premiere (ideally, both).
- Must have experience cutting picture, sound and music
- Knowledge of audio/video compression and converters for client delivery
- Solid knowledge of film terminology, film techniques, film editing styles, film mixing, and film in general
- Strong storytelling skills
- Detail-oriented with an ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Able to take direction and work well with others in a collaborative environment
- Exceptional communication skills with high profile clients in the film industry

**Desirable Skills**:

- Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve
