Accounts/admin Assistant

**Full Job Description**
SFC Midlands are specialist steelwork contractors. We design, manufacture, and install structural and secondary steelwork and security fencing throughout the UK.
**Job Role**
We seek an efficient, methodical, pro-active and highly organised individual to join our Accounts team to look after all aspects of purchase ledger and administration duties. We are a small friendly team within a relaxed work environment and the individual will work under the Accounts Manager.
**Key responsibilities of this role**
- Register all purchase invoices on receipt to ensure the appropriate period is charged with the relevant expense
- Matching supplier invoices with purchase orders
- Resolving supplier queries
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Maintain and update subcontractor and CIS information
- Housekeeping of online folders, liaising with IT and overseeing and maintaining file structures
- General reception and admin duties
- Any other task as may be deemed necessary from time to time by management
**Skills/Knowledge/Experience**
- Previous experience within Purchase Ledger
- Computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of Sage / Sage Construction desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Capable of working as part of a team or on their own initiative
- Previous experience of working within construction desirable but not essential
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues
- The ability to work in an organised and methodical fashion, with high levels of attention to detail
- The ability to work calmly under pressure and to prioritise and meet deadlines
- A pro-active approach to work and a willingness to get involved and put forward ideas
**Hours & Salary**
Full time, 36 hours per week (8.30am-5.00pm Monday - Thursday (1 hour lunch unpaid) and 8.30am-3.00pm on Fridays (1/2 lunch unpaid)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £10.00 per hour
