**Security Advisor - Gloucester**

Due to the growth within Roke, we are currently recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Security Advisor. You will be a security professional with experience within a Facilities Security Clearance environment. The Security Advisor will play a critical part of the overall security function in Roke.

Roke are a leading technology & engineering company with clients spanning National Security, Defence and Industry 4.0 through our Futures business and Intelligence as a Service. Roke delivers advanced research, development services and products to high profile customers who come to Roke with varied and challenging problems to solve.

As a valued member of the Roke Security Team, reporting to the Security Controller as part the Corporate Services Directorate, you will use your experience as a Security Advisor to deliver advice and support to all aspects of the organisation in a timely manner. We’re looking for a self-starter and ‘people person’ to thrive within our growing Security team.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Assisting the wider Roke Security team in all aspects of administration including, but not limited to:

- Implement routine assurance activities across the full Security function ensuring services are accessible, reliable, consistent, and repeatable across the entire Roke estate.
- Support to working environment accreditation, including governance and assurance inspections.
- Administer secure vetting life cycle (including international visits) in accordance with HMG/Authority client led processes.
- Assist security incident resolution and where required, conduct/support investigations.
- Support transactions in/out requiring secure transit /registration.
- Fulfil the Roke Crypto Custodian function and implied tasks.
- Develop and provide personnel security awareness training.
- Establish effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- An understanding of information security best practice (industry standards), including ISO 27001-2022 and NIST 800-53.
- Experience in an HMG environment or an organisation with strong security regimes.
- An understanding of HMG security requirements, ideally with experience of handling and accounting for sensitive material/media.
- Excellent organisational and communication (written and verbal) skills. The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

**Where you’ll work**
You’ll find our **Gloucester site** in a business park two minutes from junction 11A of the M5; The site allows easy access to our local customer base. Set on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, you are never far from a picturesque view or lunch time walk. **There will be an expectation of occasional travel to the other Roke offices when required.**

**Clearances**
Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC clearance.
