**JOB DESCRIPTION** **Job Title: School Business Manager (SBM)** **This post is an exciting role that requires the oversight of a range of staff to ensure that the school runs efficiently and compliantly. The post holder will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The SBM will have a range of staff to overseeand support them in the discharging of duties laid out in this job description.** **Responsible for**:This is strategic role, which will develop, implement, and maintain a coherent, effective, and efficient approach to business management across the three school sites. The post holder will drive forward an ambitious agenda,working on a day-to-day basis with the Headteacher to create an appropriate business management structure and function across the school. The structure will reduce duplication, drive efficiencies, and enable greater utilisation of resources to the core businessof the school. In addition, the role will include managing the business management function of the school. **Reporting to**:Headteacher **Pay Grade**: SO1(NJC23-25) 30 Hours per week - term time + 3 weeks (negotiable) **_Leadership Role_** To provide a learning environment which is stimulating and safe for students and staff alike. Ensure that students can access modern and innovative resources which bring enjoyment and achievement. This role carries considerable autonomy; the post holder is expected to contribute to the success of The School and develop policies and procedures complying with the local authority directives and ensure compliance with local and national compliance frameworks. **This will involve**: - Leading School staff in ensuring high-quality resources for the school community - Directly Leading the financial management of the school by: 3. To Oversee the School’s HR requirements: 4. Health & Safety Management 5. Facility and Property Management 6. ICT Provision 7. Data Management and office duties 8. Personal development **"Perks" of working with us**: - Private health care cash plan for employee and dependent children - Private counselling, legal and advice line (through Benenden health-not the standard LA advice line) - Complementary flu jab - Cycle to work benefits/ childcare vouchers available - On site school nurse - Golden time for grown ups to aid social time and wellbeing inc: flower arranging lessons, staff quizzes, free lunches etc **SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGER - PERSON SPECIFICATION** **Education and Qualifications**: Educated to degree, HNC, NVQ 3 /4 Level **(Desirable)** Professional Qualification associated with School Business Management, CSBM, DSBM, etc or accounting qualification AAT, ACCA, CIMA etc **(Desirable)** GCSE A - C (or equivalent) In English and Maths **(Essential)** Evidence of experience in current requirements in Education **(Essential)** **Relevant Experience**: Highly developed planning and organisational skills **(Essential)** Ability to successfully lead and manage change **(Essential)** Ability to work to tight deadlines, work under pressure and have attention to detail **(Essential)** Experience in financial and business management **(Essential)** Experience of working with School Funding and a good understanding of the difficulties this presents **(Essential)** High level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain a positive profile with all stakeholders **(Essential)** Knowledge of developments in Data Protection and General Data Protection Regulations **(Essential)** Experience of development, management, and operation of administrative systems **(Essential)** Knowledge and experience of managing staff, setting standards and monitoring and evaluating performance Dealing with a wide range of HR issues **(Essential)** Experience in Facilities management and Premise / Building maintenance programmes **(Essential)** **General and Special Knowledge**: Effective use of ICT, including knowledge of the relevant software packages **(Essential)** Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes or practice and awareness of relevant legislation **(Essential)** Use of recognised accounting management information software. Sage (ideally) **(Essential)** Awareness of current Health & Safety legislation and procedures and how these are applied in the work place **(Essential)** **Skills and Abilities**: Ability to communicate at all levels, advising and reporting, with Senior Leaders, staff and other stakeholders **(Essential)** Hard working with enthusiasm and high expectations of self and others **(Essential)** Organisation skills; able to prioritise time and tasks in order to meet deadlines and provide effective leadership **(Essential)** Ability to deal appropriately with challenging situations **(Essential)** Ability to analyse and use data and information to monitor and evaluate service provision **(Essential)
