**Job Summary**
Short break workers at Blue Mile Care Ltd have the opportunity to work with young people with disabilities in the community, on a residential basis, and also in the family homes. We have positions available due to the continued growth of the service. The role is varied as the service supports children and adults from birth to 25. The service is 24 hours a day 7 days a week with shifts including bank holidays, nights and weekends. There is a requirement that staff will complete a level 3 diploma, which will be supported through the service if not already in place. There is an induction and training programme to support new staff to become the best short breaks workers, that can support our children and adults to reach their potential while having postive experiences.

What Sheena Miles can offer you as a Support Worker:

- Working days, nights and weekends
- Pay rates from £13 per hour, fortnightly pay
- Free training in line with the Care Certificate
- Ongoing support and further development opportunities with in-house courses and funded qualifications such as distance learning and NVQ Level 2 and 3

Key Role Responsibilities:

Person Specification:

- To support, safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children and young people
- Assist with daily routines which may include working in the community and/or educational setting
- Organising and facilitating social activities
- Transportation
- Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to implement safe practice
- Offer high levels of supervision and support
- Working in line with CQC regulations
- Manage complex behaviours and crisis intervention
- Contributing to the young person s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation

What Blue Mile needs from you as a Support Worker:

- Previous experience working within a child and/or young adults in community
- A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively
- A Full UK Driving License
- Business Car Insurance
- Access to Own Vehicle

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.85-£14.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: Remote
