Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a 27-year-old Autistic adult with a Physical Disability living in the Moodiesburn area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, at day centre and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
- Attending to all personal care needs (assisting showering, dressing, prompt and assisting when requiring toilet.
- Assisting with medication when required
- I cannot be left alone inside or outside any area
- Assisting with ordering, paying, and receiving correct change in restaurants and fast-food facilities and promoting healthy snacks
- Escorting and taking part in leisure, educational or other activities (gym, dance, Zumba swimming etc)
- Tidying up after meals inside/outside or in car
- Support when going walks, assisting with participation in these physical activities in town centre/and outside parks occasional assistance to maintain balance and/ or walking
- Assistance when moving and crossing roads and streets
- Take me out to see new things and places
- Support with any other daily living tasks and other reasonable activities to promote independent living
Driver essential with clean licence and you will be required to use assigned mobility vehicle for all events this will also be fully insured and fuelled for use. Your own means of transport are required to get to place of work then full use of mobility car to start shift returning car at end of daily shift.
- The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds._
Experience working within the care sector, providing personal care and working with adults with autism.
PVG check and a full, clean driving licence required
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**
Recruiting for 1 position or happy to consider job share
Guaranteed permanent position of 30 hours per week with potential overtime
**Days and times: to be discussed at interview**
Typically - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
(morning): 9am - 3pm (can be flexible, to discuss at interview)
Occasional weekends and evenings may be required - to be discussed at interview
**Hourly rate**:
£12.00 per hour
