**Job Advert**

Personal Assistant required to assist a young lady (16) with complex needs living in the Cumbernauld area.

You would be required to join a team providing two to one care and assistance within her home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

- Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
- Assisting with medication administered via gastrostomy tube
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks and supporting with eating
- Facilitating fun activities in the community such as 10-pin bowling; swimming; theatre shows; trips to safari park etc
- Moving and assisting - pushing power assisted manual wheelchair; using hoisting equipment
- Maintaining a clean and tidy bedroom within the family home
- Any other daily living tasks to promote health, safety and wellbeing at all times

Driver essential as you will be required to drive a wheelchair adapted mobility vehicle. Consideration will be given to a local non-driver for the 10 hour contract as this does not require driving

Experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. A good sense of humour and fun-loving attitude will be an advantage.
- The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds._

**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**

**Position 1**: 10 hours per week term time (Monday to Friday early morning to assist with getting ready for school day)

**Position 2**: 20 hours per week on a rota basis covering full 7 days with other team members. Weekend working - generally 1 weekend in 4. Occasional sleepovers and an annual supported holiday included in the package of care.

Relief employees will also be considered and are encourages to apply.

Additional hours likely to be available to cover other team member’s holidays.

**Hourly rate**:
£10.50 - £13.50 depending on skills and experience
