The Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service is a joint venture between Alzheimers Society and Devon Partnership Trust supporting the people of Bristol with Dementia to live as well as possible, for as long as possible in their own community.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with experience in running groups, providing targeted therapeutic interventions, and tailored intensive support, to join us as a Dementia Support Worker.

The successful post holder will be aligned to a locality team working alongside the Senior Dementia Practitioners. The role will provide dedicated Post Diagnostic Support, including running groups and offering individual support/interventions. There may be a need to support to avoid hospital admission or to support safe discharge, including structured observation, modelling, carer education and support, checking the carer is coping, checking medication compliance, etc.,

This Dementia Support Worker post is a permanent position advertised as 0.8 WTE. The hours are within Monday to Friday, 9.00-17.00, with support to provide cover to our Access Point desk, which will require shifts of 8.00-16.00 or 10.00-18.00. This role will be citywide based from our Brookland Hall base in St Weburghs Bristol.

There will be opportunities for training and development as identified through supervision and appraisal. Line Management will be provided by the Clinical Psychologist Professional Lead Manager and Clinical supervision by a Senior Dementia Practitioner.
