**About The Role**:
This role is estimated to be a 2-3 month assignment and is required to support additional workload during the the year end close, to cover holidays within the team and support clearing a backlog in accounts payable following a recent systems migration.
The key priorities for the role are:
**Year End**
To assist the Financial Accountant with the following:
- Collation and submission of year end audit requests from Group Finance and our external auditors
- Preparation of audit schedules.
- Preparation of statutory accounts.
- Timely responses to audit queries. **Month End**
To assist the Financial Accountant with the following:
- Month end AP and AR close process.
- Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations.
- Other ad hoc duties to support the month end close process. **Accounts Payable**
To support the Accounts Payable team to ensure that invoices are recorded in Accounts Payable in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to:
- Matching invoices to relevant purchase orders ensuring that any discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
- Liaising with other departments to ensure the purchase order is raised or where this is not appropriate to seek the appropriate manager approvals for the invoice.
- Reviewing the coding of purchase orders to ensure that they accurately reflect the nature of the expenditure.
- Coding invoices that do not have purchase orders, obtaining approval from the Financial Accountant or Head of Finance
- Ensuring that any credit notes due are received on a timely basis and matched against the invoice.
- Preparing supplier statement reconciliations on a timely basis and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- To liaise with both internal and external suppliers/ customers promptly, efficiently, and appropriately.
**About You**:
- A-level educated with GCSE grades A to C or equivalent in English and Maths
- Experience within other transactional finance roles.
- Experience of Microsoft Finance & Operations (F&O) would be beneficial
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Able to work without direct supervision to tight deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
